STS-93 Launch
Representatives from the council attended the historical STS-93 launch
at Kennedy Space Center in which Commander Eileen Collins became NASA's first female
Space Shuttle Commander. |

Johnson Space Center
Women of NASA has partnered with the Ms. Foundation in celebration
of the upcoming Take Our Daughters to Work Day 2000. Four of our Council
members took a trip to Johnson Space Center to meet astronauts: Commander
Eileen Collins, Dr. Ellen Ochoa, and Mission Specialist Yvonne Cagle
- the official spokeswomen for the event. Once again, Women of NASA
will produce a Virtual Take Our Daughters to Work Day, coinciding
with the national initiative on April 27, 2000. Visit the archives of our previous years events and
make sure to mark your calendars for next April. |

Women
in Aviation International Convention
Two of our Advisory Council Members attended the Women in Aviation, International
annual conference in Memphis from March 9 - 11, 2000. Bonnie
and Lisa share their adventures with you, which included meeting such
famous aviators as Bobbie Trout and Commander Eileen Collins, unveiling
of the poster featuring our council members, and an evening at Graceland.

STS-106 Launch
To kick off an unprecedented partnership between NASA and the Department
of Labor Women's Bureau, a Women's Launch Conference was convened
at Kennedy Space Center for the STS-106 launch. Representatives of
our council met with leaders of National Women's organizations and
DOL to discuss strategies to strengthen our outreach efforts and form
alliances. |

STS-92 Launch
The STS-92 Discovery mission was the 100th NASA Manned Launch. This
historic mission's goal was to bring up and install important components
of the International Space Station. Three members of our council traveled
out to the launch while other members collaborated at NASA Ames Research

Center to produce our Back
To School Special, an all day series of chats, forums, and webcasts
featuring select female leaders from a broad spectrum of professions
within NASA.
