SONIA RUSELER

Sonia Ruseler is an anchor for CNN's NEWSDAY. The show airs Monday through Friday from 12:00 - 12:30 p.m. (Eastern). She also anchors three programs from D.C. for CNN International. Prior to moving to Washington, D.C. and anchoring NEWSDAY, Ruseler was an anchor out of Atlanta for CNN International's World News .

Before joining CNN in 1993, Ruseler was a journalist in London, first for the BBC World Service and BBC Television as a News trainee. She joined ITN in 1988, producing and reporting for Britain's award-winning news hour Channel 4 News, covering news in Britain, Spain, Germany, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Cuba. She lived in Japan as ITN's Tokyo Bureau chief in 1991, reporting and anchoring daily on Asian news, and then returned to London to present ITN's Lunchtime News.

Ruseler was educated at Cambridge University in the UK and holds a bachelor of arts and a master of arts in politics and sociology. Ruseler is Argentine, born in Buenos Aires, and holds dual Argentine-Dutch citizenship.
