September September 8, 2000 Women's Launch Conference for STS-106 at Kennedy Space Center Join representatives of the Young Women of NASA Advisory Council as they attend the launch of STS-106 on September 8, 2000.
Three young women reporters will attend a Women's Launch Conference and live launch at Kennedy Space Center. They will interact with high profile women from various fields and interview NASA women involved with the mission. Their Adventure Journals and video clips of their trip will be available for viewing on the YWAC pages.
September September 15 - October 15 Hispanic Heritage Month Women of NASA offers bilingual chats and profiles in Spanish/English. These Bilingual pages will guide you to resources and events to meet the growing number of Spanish-speaking students in our schools today.
September Wednesday, September 27, 2000, 7:00 a.m. PT - 9:00 a.m. PT / 10:00a.m. ET - noon ET Department of Labor and NASA Partnership Satellite Teleconference and Webcast Department of Labor Women's Bureau and NASA have partnered to join forces in an initiative to narrow the wage gap and work toward gender equity. By increasing girls' and women's interest in - and preparedness for - math, science, engineering and technology, the Department can improve their pay, expand their career opportunities and increase their economic security. The partnership will kickoff with a satellite teleconference live from NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC. Women of NASA will broadcast the event and offer participants the opportunity to interact with featured women during the event, via a live webcast. Don't miss the preconference webchat on the science and engineering of video conferencing, satellite broadcasts, and webcasting.

October 10/4-10/10 World Space Week The United Nations has declared October 4-10 each year as "World Space Week" We will produce a series of online interactive events featuring international experts and themes.
October Thursday, October 5, 2000 8:00 a.m. PT - 6:00 p.m. PT Women of NASA Back to School Special Series Join us for this day long series of interactive chats, forums, and webcasts featuring a diverse group of female NASA role models hosted by our Young Women of NASA Advisory Council members. The day will culminate with a webcast live from the launch of STS-92 at Kennedy Space Center. Event overview

February Friday 2/5/01 - 2/9/01 Mars Landing Site Debate Mars Scientists from all over the world will convene at NASA Ames on 1/24 - 1/26 to discuss and debate the proposed landing site for the Mars 2003 mission. Join this debate during the week of 2/5 - 2/9 and discuss your ideas with other schools worldwide. Then participate in our live interactive webcast on Friday 2/9 to hear what the scientists have decided and why.
February All month Black History Month With a focus on Black History Month our interactive events will feature African American women and the contributions they have made to NASA
February Monday 2/21 - Friday 2/25 National Engineers Week Our interactive events will feature female engineers at NASA
February Thursday 2/22 Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day With a focus on National Engineers Week this daylong series of events will feature NASA engineers from a variety of disciplines in an all day forum, live webchats, and a live webcast.
March All Month Long Women's History Month With a focus on Women's History Month, our interactive events will feature NASA women who have contributed to math, science, and technology history.
March Thursday 3/9 - Saturday 3/11 Women in Aviation International Convention Women in Aviation will be honored at the convention in Memphis. Highlights of the conference will be showcased by our Young Women of NASA Advisory Council reporters who will be attending the convention.
March Tuesday, March 20, 2001 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET Spectroscopy Webcast featuring Yvonne Pendleton Spectroscopy is the analysis of star light. Join Astrobiologist Yvonne Pendleton and Max Bernstein in this webcast as they share how spectroscopy is being used in astrobiology research.
April Thursday 4/26 Virtual Take Our Daughters to Work Day Coinciding with the national initiative, and this year's focus on Technology, we will feature select female leaders developing and utilizing NASA's cutting edge technology who will meet online with hundreds of students, parents, and schools worldwide to discuss and celebrate opportunities, as well as gain insight into the professional and personal aspects of their lives. May Monday 5/7 - Friday, 5/12 Global Science and Technology Week The President of the United States has proclaimed May 7-13, 2000 as "Global Science and Technology Week." NASA Quest's Women of NASA project, will produce a week-long series of interactive online events to celebrate NASA women working on international scientific collaborations and the international diversity of our female scientists. We invite students, parents and schools worldwide to join us in fostering an appreciation for international perspectives that will better prepare them to participate in the world's interdependent high-tech economy and the global scientific community.
June - August Women of NASA will not offer interactive events over the summer holiday. Please refer to our other Quest events that are ongoing throughout the summer.
