Robert
The Space Race

model of ISSToday at the Kennedy Space Center I learned a lot about the United States Space Program. The space program was started when the Russians launched the first satellite called Sputnik.

The U.S. was scared that Russia would spy on us and bomb us. That was when we were enemies. Now we are allies with Russia. We now build the parts for the International Space Station together.

I learned about the shuttle take off system. I learned about the propulsion of the spacecraft. It used hydrogen and oxygen to launch.

I will remember the whole trip for the rest of my life. I had a great time and wish I could have stayed longer.
