3-D 360 Degree X-77 Flight Simulator
The Meat and Potatoes of our Schedule
By Ricky
We all had fun at space camp and it was educational. They
have a great museum there. They have real personal stuff that had been
owned by early astronauts. The stuff is very cool to look at. WE went
to a room filled with glass etchings of all the early astronauts. I took
tons of pictures while I was in that room. Next, we went into another
room and learned about all the great spin-offs that we have from the space
program. We saw space blankets and other stuff like small computers and
tape, Velcro and other stuff that we take for granted in our daily lives.
We got a chance to go to the space camp gift shop. Lots of kids bought
lots of stuff but I did not buy anything. We had lunch. I ate a sandwich.
It had mustard on it. I also ate two oatmeal pies. During lunch Mr. Weiner
asked each student to share what his or her favorite part of the day was.
I told everyone that my favorite part was when we all got to hold a baby
alligator. After lunch we all went to the bathroom. Then we went to the
big room at space camp that holds all of the big simulators. They had
a lot of cool simulators, but I like the 3D 360-degree flight simulator
the most. It actually spins you in a circle of 360degree many times and
the inside stuff you see is seen in 3D because of the glasses that you
wear. I also got to simulate a Mars mission. Every kid went from big room
to big room getting to try simulators like a weightless wall or a simulator
that simulated controlling pitch roll and yaw in microgravity. Space camp
was time spent I will not soon forget.
