I Will Never Forget Kennedy Space Center
Today
I went to the Kennedy Space Center. While I was there, I learned many
things. At the Kennedy Space Center there is a huge building called
the VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building). The VAB is the second largest building,
by volume, in the world. The VAB is so big that it can fit two shuttles
in it at one time. On the side of the VAB there is a huge flag of the
United States.
The blue section of the flag is as big as a NBA
basketball court and the stripes are so wide that you can drive a tour
bus on one of them.
Besides the VAB there are other things to see. For
instance, there is a crawler. The crawler is a vehicle that weights
6.3 million pounds. Just one of its treads weighs one ton. Its job is
to transport the shuttle to the launch pad. The shuttle weighs 4.4 million
pounds. That is why the crawler is so big and so heavy.
The experience I had today is one that I will never
forget. Hopefully, I can come back next year and refresh all of these
memories, as well as create new ones.
