Multi-Axis Space Test Inertia Facility (MASTIF)

Not Sick or Dizzy Just One Big Blur
By Aaron

Student in MASTIF

IÕm glad I got to go to space camp. I got to ride the MASTIF or the Multi-Axis Space Test Inertia Facility. It is made of three different huge rings that spin in every direction like the x, y and z axis or like pitch, roll and yaw. It spun non-stop for 30 seconds and never went the same way twice. I figured out that it is pretty hard to take pictures of people on some of the simulators at space camp. With all of the kids that we had at space camp, we had to wait a long time to get on each of our simulators. This simulator spun me so fast that all I could see was one big blur. When I first saw this simulator I was a little afraid that it was going to make me sick and dizzy. It was fun to learn from experienced adults that know what they retaking about. The guy at space amp explained the whole thing and I did not get sick or dizzy, instead it was very cool and very fun. My trip to space camp was one of the coolest experiences of my entire life. I hope you get to come and be here some day.
