[ Oran/NASAChatHost - 16 - 10:03:54 ]
RE: [Chris/4th-Mrs.Mock/MontessoriSchoolofCorona] What does KSC mean?
Chris, KSC is an abbreviation for Kennedy Space Center. The "official" title is NASA John F. Kennedy Space Center, which is located in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

[ DionneJackson/KSC - 15 - 10:03:27 ]
KSC = John F. Kennedy Space Center. It was named after our late president.

[ DionneJackson/KSC - 24 - 10:10:08 ]
RE: [Ronica/4th-Mrs.Mock/MontessoriSchoolofCorona] What are your daughters names?
Ronica, I do not have any children. I got married three years ago and my husband and I are waiting to have children. Dionne

[ DionneJackson/KSC - 25 - 10:10:28 ]
RE: [Brian/4th-Mrs.Mock/MontessoriSchoolofCorona] Do you like science?
Brian, I love science. Especially Chemistry.

[ DionneJackson/KSC - 26 - 10:10:58 ]
RE: [Leslie/4th-Mrs.Mock/MontessoriSchoolofCorona] What did you like best when you were in 4th grade?
Leslie, It has been so long since I was in the 4th grade. But, I think what I liked best was snack time.

[ DionneJackson/KSC - 31 - 10:18:43 ]
Oran, A lot of work goes into launching the space shuttle, as you all know. It is almost like walking on pins and needles. Everyone is anxious and on edge. Since I work in a lab and if we receive a sample that affects the launch; we have to determine the answers ASAP.

[ DionneJackson/KSC - 32 - 10:19:46 ]
RE: [Ashley5thgrade-Mrs.Mock/MontessoriSchoolofCorona] Sorry for the delay. What did you learn at Spellman. By the way my mom went to the same collage. Her name is Angela Rosser.Did you now her?
Ashley, I learned a lot about Chemistry and a lot about life at Spelman. What year did your mom graduate?

[ DionneJackson/KSC - 33 - 10:20:39 ]
RE: [spaceperson/RockyRunMiddleSchool] Hello! I need some help on my science project for school about space technology. Do you think you might be able to help me?
Spaceperson, What is your question? If I can't help you, then I might be able to find someone who can. Dionne

[ DionneJackson/KSC - 37 - 10:24:51 ]
RE: [Anna5thgrade-Mrs.Mock/MontessoriSchoolofCorona] Are you the oldest or in the middle or the youngest and cutest. Do you have any kids and how old are they?
Anna, I am the middle child. My oldest sister is 30 and my younger sisters (they are twins) are 25. Of course, I am the cutest. My sisters may not think so, but I do. And, I have no children.

[ DionneJackson/KSC - 38 - 10:27:27 ]
RE: [spaceperson/RockyRunMiddleSchool] Thanks! My question is: what information and technology is helping us with further space exploration?
That's a broad subject. So much is being done for space exploration. You need to have one focus. For example, the Materials Science Lab has an electrostatic charge/discharge research project going on now. Electrostatics is like walking across your carpet at home, touching a doorknob and getting shocked. We are looking at what kind of materials will have this property on Mars.

[ DionneJackson/KSC - 40 - 10:29:30 ]
RE: [Ashley5thgrade-Mrs.Mock/MontessoriSchoolofCorona] Do your sisters study chemistry? If so what part of it do they study.
Ashley, No. My three sisters have all graduated from college with degrees in Business Administration, English and Political Science. Dionne

[ Oran/NASAChatHost - 41 - 10:31:12 ]
RE: [spaceperson/RockyRunMiddleSchool] Thanks! My question is: what information and technology is helping us with further space exploration?
Spaceperson, NASA's missions to planets such as Mars, and the study of our moon and other planets have given us valuable information about them and what Earth may have been like millions of years ago. Space exploration such as this has been conducted using small spacecraft, such as the Mars Rover and Pathfinder, and Lunar Prospector. These are unmanned space craft that have traveled far to and study planetary surfaces up close and teach us about other worlds. However, we've also received exciting images of planets and distant galaxies using orbiting space craft, such as Magellan, and the Hubble Space Telescope. Much of this information is available on many NASA websites and in the astronomy section of your local library. Check it out!

[ DionneJackson/KSC - 42 - 10:31:23 ]
RE: [Giavanna5thgrade-Mrs.Mock/MontessoriSchoolofCorona] What were your favorite stories to read when you were in the fifth grade?
While growing up, I loved reading. One of my favorite books was Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. My favorite author was Judy Blume.

[ Oran/NASAChatHost - 45 - 10:34:42 ]

RE: [Ileana5thgrade-Mrs.Mock/MontessoriSchoolofCorona] If you could choose another job what would it be?
Ileana, That is a difficult question for me really have not given it much thought. Maybe a teacher.

[ DionneJackson/KSC - 48 - 10:38:58 ]
RE: [spaceperson/RockyRunMiddleSchool] Sorry my question was so broad! To narrow it down, what new technology is being used on sattelites and Mars rovers? Also, in your opinion, what should be an important goal for NASA within the next ten to twenty years: sending humans back to the moon, sending humans to Mars, or having humans stay on Earth and continue to send sattelites and robots to other planets?
Spaceperson, To best find out about satellites and the Mars rover, you will have to do a search at the other NASA sites. Such as JPL, Ames and JSC. Currently the goals are Space Station and the Mission to Mars.
