The M.R.D.F.

by Bill Strathearn
September 15, l998

Today we visited the Marine Rescources Development Foundation Head Quarters (M.R.D.F.). I got a wonderful tour of the facility and got to see all sorts of interesting diving bells and other marine type equipment. You may take a look at some of these pictures taken during the tour. We took a ride down the keys to where to Space Analog Station (SAS) is going to be launched. the SAS arrived on a flatbed semi with some of the crew as escorts. The crew and employees from the M.R.D.F. went through a tedious process to attach some ballast tanks. The launch went well and the boat was towed to the dock. Every one was over-joyed that the launch went off without a hitch. The Station will sit at the dock for a while until the umibilical cords are hooked up. These are the power, air, and water hoses that are necessary for operation. I did not get a whole lot done today because the computer cannot be put in until Wednesday
