More waiting!
by Kathy Sablan
Saturday, September 26, l998
I woke up this morning feeling lousy. My glands are swollen, my ears
are hurting, and I feel wiped out. I may have gotten whatever Karen had.
I decided to stay in bed for the morning and miss the chat we had scheduled.
I got up to meet some of the team members for lunch and to cancel our
hotel accommodations in Cocoa Beach.
Linda was busy on the computer with the chats and other things. She
joined us later for a bite to eat. Krisstina started getting sick today
so she decided to visit the Clinic I took Karen to the other day before
traveling on to Miami. Celeste was coming in afterall now that the hurricane
has passed and will be able to assist in crew activities support when
I leave. I was scheduled to leave on October 1, the day after the end
of the mission, but I was going to see how the mission was going. If I
wasn't needed, I was tentatively planning on going back on September 27
in time for my second class. College classes had started on September
24, so if I came back in time for the Monday class I would only be missing
one class. All this was still up in the air. Just as things were with
Hurricane Georges. I have been trying to get a hold of the professor since
the first day of class to let her know I was on a business trip and to
see if she could keep me in the class until I return. I had been in touch
with the office and talked to someone there to let them know I would not
be there for the first class and to not drop me. I decided to stay on
until Rose can come in so I can try to keep the team working together.
Depending on when Rose does come in, and if I can be excused for the second
class, then I would try to leave on Tuesday in time for the class on Wednesday.
Another waiting game!
