Of sunken habitats and ships

It was the first official day of the Challenge Mission in the Scott Carpenter Space Analog Station. Actually in preparation to get Commander status, James Cameron had arrived, gone through some of the activities designed to demonstrate the difference when attempted in the underwater environment. spent the night underwater, and was scheduled to come to the surface.

Today, September 23 is the first official day of the mission. Bright and early, folks lined the dock, cameras in hand, eagerly awaiting the emergence of the overnighters (especially special guest, James Cameron)!

The first to appear were...Claudia and Dennis!
Then under the watchful eyes of Joe and Robin,
Jim Cameron emerged and rinsed the pond water off.

The next 90 minutes Jim, Claudia and Dennis would have to rest while their bodies readjusted to being above water. What an opportunity. While the Chamberland puppy revelled in the return of the Chamberlands...

... the rest of the group sat in rapt attention as master story-teller, Jim Cameron shared many of the experiences (especially those involving underwater activities) during the filming of Titanic.
