Who I am - words that describe me:
I am friendly and outgoing. I enjoy meeting new people. I am energetic and love to keep myself busy. I am a very motivated person.

My personal challenges:
Last year was my first year as a high school science teacher. Being a first year teacher was quite a challenge! Now, I am looking forward to my second year in the classroom.

Teaching is always a challenge! I have to be flexible by constantly modifying my teaching styles to provide the students with a better learning environment and realistic applications to the outside world.

My career:
I am a high school science teacher at the Indiana School for the Deaf. This is my second year of teaching. I teach Biology, Earth Science, and Chemistry.

Likes/Dislikes about career:
The best part of my career is working with students and watching them learn new things.

Influences:
The most influential or memorable person in my career is George Houk, the teacher I did my student-teaching with in the Middle School Department at the Indiana School for the Deaf. He did a wonderful job and students enjoyed being in his classroom. I will always remember the things I learned from him.

Future goals:
A goal that I have yet to accomplish is to travel to Europe for three months during the summer.

My thoughts about space exploration:
Space exploration interests me because I am amazed with all of the spin-off technologies we use in everyday life that have their beginnings in our nation's space program. I like the possibilities of learning new things that cannot be compared to Earth.
