The Cassini spacecraft will reach relative speeds of 13.0 km/s (29100
mi/h) flying by Venus (equivalent to flying from Los Angeles to Boston
in under 5 minutes!); and 19.1 km/s (42700 mi/ h) flying by Earth.
During the cruise phase, Cassini's speed will be 31.6 km/s (70,700
mi/h). Of course, Cassini must fire its engines to slow down to be
captured in orbit around Saturn.
