November's Featured Teacher: David Ewart
Welcome to the Highlights section of the Airspace Systems Education Cohort! Each
month we will feature one of our Airspace Systems Educators (ASEs) and highlight
the work they are doing with students and teachers all around the country, inspiring
the next generation, as only NASA can! This month we are proud to feature ASE
David Ewart, Science Programs Coordinator for the Shasta County Office of Education
in Redding, California. David has conducted several workshops this year, including
at meeting of County Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Directors.
Heidi Brahms, Director of Curriculum and Instruction says,
“David did an outstanding job with his presentation and filled the room
with an abundance of learning opportunities that will be disseminated for the
teachers. In our Region, we have over 3000 teachers and calls have already
started coming in. He is anxiously looking forward to providing teachers with
the teaching
support materials and information that Brian Grigsby presented on the Mars
Educational Program and David’s presentation on the Airspace Systems Educational
learning tools that NASA Ames has to offer.”
His presentations were met with great enthusiasm and as a result he has been
in high demand for workshops and training. His administrators are very proud
of the quality of his presentations and the resources he is sharing as a result
of his ASEC Training. For more information about David’s work, visit
