Meet: Gregory A. Dorais

Co-Principal Investigator of the PSA
Gregory A. Dorais is a Co-Principal Investigator of the
PSA and is its project manager as well as its autonomy lead in the Autonomy
and Robotics Area at the NASA Ames Research Center.
He was a member of the Remote Agent Executive development
team and was the Remote Agent System Integrator for the Deep Space One
spacecraft. He also was a co-developer of the IDEA autonomous control
system based on the Remote Agent. He was a member of the Design for Safety
Program Planning team where he led the Resilient Systems and Operation
project. He was also a Co-principal Investigator on a Human-Centered Autonomy
project.
He has performed autonomous rover research at JPL and remote
sensing research at General Motors Research. At the University of Michigan,
he performed autonomy
research, was a member of the rover development team, and developed an
automated system for inferring classification and forecasting models from
data.
He received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in
Computer Science with a concentration in Intelligent Systems. His research
interests include autonomous
systems, robotics, machine vision, and machine learning.
