   We are located on an alluvial fan at the southern end of the Mojave Desert up against the San Gabriel Mountains (and the San Andreas Fault). We are at an altitude of 1323 meters (4340 feet), which is considered a high desert climate. Since we have had no rain or snow since February, there is no water anywhere near our site.
