February 6th 1999

The day started off with the Team going out to the landing site for the first time.
They took their vehicles and the Rover out about a quarter of a mile out into the desert
from where the RV was. They did numurous tests with the rover. I left earl during the
day so I didn't get to see what else they did. I am sure they were out there for most of
the day even though they are only supposed to work for half a day. They are really
dedicated to their work. If it is not working and it is time to go home they still keep on plugging away to get it working. I think that is one big reason why this testing event will
be so successful. For that fact and also the scientists know what they are doing, and they
do a good job of doing it. Sunday is our day off and I am heading back to the bay area today
to pick up some things and visit some family and friends. I will be returning Sunday night.

I hear that some of the team is thinking about going to the big city again and some are thinking of doing some site seeing in the area. I am sure they will have fun whatever
they end up doing. That is all for now. Until Monday this is Seth Carter saying goodbye.
