February 21^st 1999

I slept in today, thinking that the team would be too but I was wrong. I woke up and looked outside my door and none of the cars were there except mine. I decided to take a ride to the site and see what they might be doing. When I got there, there was only one person in the RV, a person from JSC named Eric. I asked him where everyone was and he said that they were out on the edge of the dried up lake. I decided to go out there but I wanted to get some exercise so I took my mountain bike. The wind was so strong that it felt like I was going up hill. I had to put in a lower gear on flat ground. Kind of weird. When I finally reached the people out there, there were only four people. John was one of them and I asked him where everyone was. He said that it is their day off. Some went to the big city and some stayed in town. I stayed for about 20 minutes and decided to go back. They were working on the cameras on the Rover and there wasn't too much excitement. I rode back with the wind pushing me this time and I was going along at a good speed. When I got back to the RV I got my printer and some other equipment and went back to my motel. I couldn't get the printer to work so I eventually went back to the site and borrowed a cable and when I got there the place looked deserted. Like a wild windstorm came along and blew everyone away. I went into the RV and saw Hans working on the computer. I said, "so they left you here ha" He said that they went to go get lunch. I said oh. So I got my cable and discussed some issues concerning the visit of some students to the site and went back to my room. I did some work and now I am here typing this journal. I am getting hungry now. It is almost dinnertime. The sky outside looks nice. I haven't head from anyone so I don't know what the plans are for dinner yet. I have t wake up early tomorrow. I am going to help with visit of a school to the site. The teachers are really stoked about the whole deal. Hopefully the kids will be just as excited when they get out there. As for me I am somewhat missing home right about now. There is nothing to do here and I am not in the mood to drive somewhere. I am currently watching MTV and there is a very weird commercial on as being usual for MTV. Well that is all I can say at this moment. I am getting anxious to come home and return to my old lifestyle. Seth signing off.
