February 11^th 1999

Today was a more relaxed day. I went to the local High School today. I talked to one of the teachers there and explained the site to her and that maybe sometime over the next couple of days Jamie and I could come and make sure everything is running sm oothly. We would probably just cache the entire web site on the computers there so the students wouldn't have to sit there for so long when they would be trying to download the pictures and video clips. I just remembered that some schools have a four-da y weekend this weekend and they might not be able to sit in during the live event tomorrow. Hopefully there will be a good enough audience.

The team was planning on going to the Big City tonight. But something went wrong and the day turned into a normal workday. During the course of the day the wireless Ethernet on the rover began to fail. Hans asked me if they could try to use my wireless routers until they get their equipment fixed. I said of course. I helped him for as long as I could and then I had to go to the City to pick up Jamie Silva. When I left the wireless routers weren't working with the subnet that was here at the site. Later on when I was in Las Vegas Hans called me and he said that it still wasn't working. There could be a problem with the radio part of them. I suggested that he change the coaxial cables and the antennas around. Unfortunately that didn't work either. I might call the vendor on Monday and see what they might have to say. Or I might have to take them to the vend or when I get back if it is that serious. They are very helpful though at the Wireless Company. They only needed the wireless Ethernet for one day and it turns out that they didn't need it anyways. I will explain that on tomorrow's journal.

Well I went to pick up Jamie and I ended up rushing there cause I stopped and shopped a little. I thought I was going to be late when she got there but I was right on time. We then went to dinner at Planet Hollywood in Ceasars Palace. The place was getting prett y busy for a Thursday night. I guess things will really be jumpin there this weekend, being Valentine's weekend and Presidents weekend and all. That is about all for today's news. I will be reporting on more tomorrow.
