Feb. 13 1999

I woke up at 8:00am this morning, in my most beautiful motel. The wind wasn't blowing hard at all today. It was very nice weather actually, much better than the weather in Silicon Valley. Seth had informed me that he was going to be at the site at 7:00am to help take the Marsokhod up to the testing site, witch was about a 1/4mile from the main site. Around 10:00am Seth came to my room and we left to the site. It takes about ten minutes to get to the site from our motels. The wireless Ethernet wasn't working so Cesar and Edmond went down South to get parts. Because of this delay, they were unable to take the Marsokhod to the testing site right away.

When we did make our way over to the testing site the trail was very bumpy. Seth and I drove in his car behind the truck with the ROVER, to make sure nothing fell off. I filmed Cesar, Jeff, Keith, Edmond, Ted, and Seth unload and push the ROVER up the hill. We finally reached one of the testing sites. I continued to film as they positioned the Rover for testing. They planned to test the spectrometer, the arm, moving capabilities, and pan-tilt head, basically everything. For the rest of the day Seth took pictures and finished updating our journal entries.
