Introduction to Aerodynamics and FoilSim


  • Archive of the May 5 event:

  • Introduction to Aerodynamics demonstrates how 9-12 math and physics teachers can use basic aerodynamic theories, incorporated into interactive lessons, to enhance classroom instruction. It includes understanding the forces that affect aircraft.

  • Introduction to FoilSim presents an interactive educational software package developed at NASA Lewis Research Center. The workshop teaches 9-12 math and physics teachers the basic classroom uses of FoilSim, including testing the changes in the forces that affect lift.

  • Supplies needed: FoilSim software package (free download) We encourage you to download this software by Friday, May 10. This will give you time to work any issues before the Tuesday sessions. If you have questions about the software, please send an email to:
