"ONLINE FROM JUPITER"

U P D A T E # 2 8

PART 1: A rationale, a plea and instructions
PART 2: Evaluation form

Online from Jupiter
Teacher Evaluation Form
Online from Jupiter is a part of a series of similar Sharing NASA
projects intended to create connections between K-12 classrooms
and the people of NASA. Your thoughts and experiences are very
important to us. We would like to tailor future offerings to better
meet your needs; to do that we need your help in understanding what
worked and what didn't.

We would like to restart Online From Jupiter later in the Galileo
mission. At that time, the rate of science coming down to us will
speed up as we get many types of data (both pictorial and non).
Feedback now will help make the project into what you'd like to see,
and will also help convince the powers that be that supporting Online
From Jupiter is an effective method of educational outreach.

Please know that a project like this is very much an experiment within
NASA. In order to demonstrate to NASA management that the resources
they invested were not wasted, we must provide concrete information
about our customers. I hope that you will feel a personal obligation to
take 5 minutes from your busy schedule to provide us with this
information. THIS MEANS YOU :-)
Please don't rely on others to carry this ball.

As an incentive, we have a limited number of Galileo arrival day posters
and copies of the Galileo animation video collection. We will distribute
these at random to folks that respond, with an emphasis on those who
provide improvement suggestions we can use. Please don't think that
you need to say nice things about us to have a chance at a goodie. Most
of all we hope you will be honest and blunt. As an aside, please note
that except for this offer, the supply of posters has run out. So please
don't contact JPL in hopes of getting one. The video collection will be
made available within the next half year through CORE and the TRC network.

Please email the completed survey to evaluate-jup@quest.arc.nasa.gov.
Or fill out the Web form at http://quest.arc.nasa.gov/galileo/evaluation.html
If it is more convenient for you to print this form and physically fill it in,
please do so. In that case, snailmail the physical copy to
  Marc Siegel,
  NASA Ames Research Center
  Mailstop T-28H
  Moffett Field, CA 94043
  United State

Or FAX the forms to (415) 604-1913.

To be most useful, we would like to get these evaluations returned
by February 15, 1996

Thank you very much for your help in this.
Yours, Marc

What features would you like to have us add to future projects?

If you are not connected to K-12 education, please skip to the next section

___ How well were you able to integrate this project with your teaching
goals and objectives, on a scale of 1-10 (1 not at all, 10 completely)?

___ Would you recommend to another teacher that he/she participate with
students in a project like Online from Jupiter?

Part 3 Journals

How well did the frequency of the updates meet your needs?

In future projects, ideally how often would you like to receive a
report? Please check one:
___ once/week ___ once/per day
___ twice/week ___ other; please describe:
___ 3-5 times/week

___ Please evaluate the level/complexity/vocabulary of the journal
reports on a scale of 1-9, where 1 is too simple, 5 is just right and
9 is too complex.

___ Did you feel connected with the journalists, on a scale of 1-10
(1 unconnected, 10 totally connected)

Were there any significant gaps in areas? That is, did you want to hear
