Vernol Batiste

Research Psychologist-Human FactorsVernol Batiste

Over his 17-year career at the center, Battiste has supported Ames research in many ways. He has been involved in the development of new laboratory capability for evaluating research concepts in aircraft self-separation. With his team of engineers and researchers, he has developed and flight tested one of the first CDTI/ADS-B systems in support of a BLM/US Forest Service aerial fire fighting project. He is currently co-PI with Dr. Walter Johnson on the research and development of cockpit situation displays in support of free-flight operations.

Donald JamesBranch Chief - NASA Ames Education Office

Donald has been with NASA since 1982, when he participated in a NASA-sponsored internship program at Goddard Space Flight Center. Since then, he has served in different roles at GSFC and NASA Headquarters. His responsibilities in these roles have included significant involvement in or management of public affairs. Since March 1999, Donald has been the education director at Ames Research Center. As education director, Donald is responsible for the center's education programs, including K-12, college and graduate.
