On Friday there was the departure from the port. The day was pretty relaxed. One of the important things that happened was to tie everything down because of the ship rocking back and forth. So we had to tie down every computer, chair and piece of equipment we owned. At noon we had to go to a department muster with all of the workers from the Polar Star. We had a short briefing and then around 2 in the afternoon we left the port. We had a small tugboat pull us away from the dock. Our ship travels around 20 miles an hour. I took a nice picture of the city with the Space needle. The land got smaller and smaller as we cruised away from Seattle. One of the funnier experiences I had on this trip so far was last night. It was our last day out on land and we decided to eat at the Space Needle. It was really great. The view at night looking down at the whole entire city was awesome. The food cost me $80 which was the most expensive meal I've ever bought in my entire life but this was a once in a life time experience so I just said "I might as well". I ended up eating some ostrich which tasted a lot better than I thought it would. Before we left the Space Needle we played a couple games at an amusement park which was right below the Space Needle. All together last night was great and I enjoyed it very much.
