I woke up this morning and cleaned up the office. It was a mess and you couldn't even walk in the office. After that we tested out the Polar Stars satellite link and it looks like it is working again. I hope that everything goes fine with their satellite, because it is less work for us because we don't need to set up our portable INMAR SAT. We get to wash our clothes once a week. For civilians they wash their clothes on Tuesdays. I missed turning in my clothes that day so I had to wait about two days after to get my clothes washed. I have had no socks and almost nothing to wear (including pants, boxers, and practically everything). Later in the evening we watched "Austin Powers". The movie got me to laugh a little, which I enjoyed. I'm feeling somewhat down compared to how I normally am because today is day 30 on the Polar Star. I've been here for one month without seeing my parents and friends. I had to catch up on journals so I worked on them most of the day. Mark fixed many of the problems that we had with the wireless bridge. He has been staying up late trying to get everything to work. I ended up eating dinner then I just went back to our lab. Worked on the journals and just thought about my life in general. When you are on a ship for this long, it gives you a lot of time to think about everything. When I return to school I will have missed two to three weeks of school. But I feel ok with that because this is one of those once in a lifetime experiences and I'm sure that I have and will continue to learn more than I would have at school for that time period.
