August 19, 1998

Today I worked a good 10 to 12 hours. I woke up early in the morning and set up the whole INMAR SAT station with the routers and everything else that we use for our broadcasts. Jamie and Mark were getting prepared to go on one of the LV's on the ship, and to test out the wireless router that we have. Also on the LV Jeff Otta, and some other NASA crew tested out the TROV robot. Seth and myself stayed onboard the ship while it rained and snowed. We were on the top of the bridge (front lookout of the ship) for at least a good 5 hours while it was raining and snowing. It was hard to keep all of the computer equipment dry and work on it at the same time. It was really windy and the tarp that I had kept getting blown off of my NT workstation. The computer almost broke from damage from the rain. From now on we won't be working in those kind of conditions. We weren't able to solve the wireless problems today so it looks like all tomorrow we will be working on this issue. Usually with the more technical problems Mark works on it because of his background and experience. He has done so much on this trip so far with solving problems and errors. I stayed up to at least until 3 in the morning and now I find it harder to go to bed early and wake up early.
