August 17, 1998

Today I woke up at 9 am in the morning. I have noticed that it is much harder to wake up in the morning. Probably today it was harder to wake up because I went to sleep at 3 in the morning last night. My job today was to be in charge of the hooking up the INMARSAT, and getting the entire real media link up and running. Mark and Seth went on one of the LV's and went to shore. Seth went to take pictures of the city with the digital camera and Mark had to get some equipment that was practically essential for making the Wireless Bridge working.

First I got up and had a bowl of cereal. I haven't had a bowl of cereal for 27 days so I decided yesterday when I was in town I'd buy a mini cartoon of milk. I don't trust the milk that they have onboard the ship so I haven't eaten cereal or anything with milk since today. It was interesting eating some fruit loops. Normally when I'm at my house I eat cereal about three times a day. For breakfast, after school, and before I go to bed. After breakfast I went back to the top of the bridge were I got the camcorder and all of the other equipment set up and working. We ended up interviewing Jeremy Bates who was onboard the ship with us. We had a great connection because the ship was anchored and wasn't moving at all.
