Our Class' Problem Solving Process
Teacher Guide

Directions: It is important to have a plan for how your class will solve the design problem. As a class, decide the steps each of you will take to solve the aeronautical problems you are facing. The first few steps have been written for you.

1. Build the glider according to the specifications.

2. Fly the glider and observe and record its flight.

3. List the aeronautical questions for which you will need answers.

4. Research the answers to these questions.

5. Use your research to assist you in re-designing the glider according to the parameters given about the design problem.

6. Build the re-designed model.

7. Fly the re-designed model and observe and record.

8. Based upon its flight, repeat steps 3 - 7.

9. Once you have achieved the desired results (The farthest and most stable flight), have another team replicate your final modified model and test it, checking their data with yours.

10. Review the results of all tests and come to consensus on which re-design will be submitted.
