Final Results
Hi Everyone!
Well, here are our final results. They are much
better than our first flights!
We launched them in the garden like before, same pilots, at a 45 degree
angle.
| Group Name
| Original Flight Distance
| Redesigned Flight Distance |
Team 1: High Flyers
| 79 cm
| 200 cm |
| Team 2: Golden Birds
| 80 cm
| 453 cm |
| Team 3: Tweety Birds
| 192 cm
| 272 cm |
| Team 4: SMart People
| 100 cm
| 110 cm (wing broke) |
| Team 5: Bomb Squad
| 430 cm
| 220 cm (wing broke) |
| Team 6: Higher Steps
| 202 cm
| 305 cm |
Everyone had fun doing this project and I enjoyed
receiving the email each morning. I won't be sending the best glider to
Nasa as it broke apart. Balsa wood is difficult for students of this age
to handle. They did learn, however, to work slowly and carefully, something
that is also difficult for them.
Sincerely,
Jean Trader and The Pastorius Kids
