Janet Elementary

Greetings fellow flyers. Below are some gliders made by my students: First, we have the glider designed by Travis and James.

Here is the glider made by Kevin and James.

As you can see, they put the horizontal stabilizer on backwards!!!!!! Well,,,,,,,live and learn!!!

Here's the one made by Sarah and Tierra. These young ladies reversed the fuselage! They will be doing revisions today, I PROMISE you!

Okay...here is one by Christopher and Warren. They tried to make the wings similar to the space shuttle's. Christopher also brought a WHITEWINGS kit to school so we can build MORE gliders! The kids LOVE this!

Adam decided to use his stabilizer as wings and his wings as a stabilizer. Stephanie, Colby, and Tierra also suffer from the Reversed Fuselage Syndrome. We will work on an antidote for this condition today.

Today we will be working on redesigning the wings. We will also be checking out some more of the EXCELLENT links provided by Jan.

Later Results:
Hello fellow Wright Flyers!
We have just completed some outside test flights of our gliders. We have some interesting results! Here they are:

INTO A HEADWIND

Christopher: flew out about 6ft, then flew back beyond start.
Warren: 11ft.
James: 11ft.
Kevin: 7ft 6in.

WITH A TAILWIND

Kevin: 35 ft. 6 in. and 37 ft.
James: 10 ft 6in.
Warren: 27 ft 2 in.
Christopher: 25 ft.

I would estimate that the wind was blowing between 5 and 10 mph. The gliders we used were the same ones as the pictures I posted to this list.

Until later,
Bert Leclere C.T. Janet Elementary Marrero, La.
