Chimneyrock Elementary, Baird

Our test flight was awesome! We stood on picnic tables in the Monet
Garden of our outdoor classroom for extra launch power. Here are the
results: Justin - from a height of 7feet at a 45 degree angle - the
glider took a nose dive and fell straight down. Bryson - from a height
of 6 feet at a 45 degree angle - the glider hit an air pocket and flew
backwards 18 feet - hit the dirt and broke! Dominick - from a height
of 8 feet at a 45 degree angle - the glider flew 10 feet. All three of
us used "arm" power to launch - we like the idea of a rubber band launch
but decided the wood is too fragile. We had fun and are now redesigning,
rebuilding, and researching! Thanks for all the e-mail - makes us feel
like we're in this together.....Later ...from the Pyramid City!
