Evans School

Hello,
We had many delays due to line problems at our school, but we do have final results.
The winning plane was designed by Ricky Kirkland and Roger Owens.

Teacher's Name: Alexandra Fitzpatrick
School's name: Evans Computer Magnet School
Level: II
Your name: Ricky Kirkland & Roger Owens
Your grade: Sixth Grade
e-mail address: sixthgr@hotmail.com

Modifications:
1. The winning fuselage was 11 inches. The middle was cut out to 1/sixteenth of an inch and this is where the wings were placed.
2. The wings were 6 inches in length, and the tail was 4 inches.
3. The pipeline was 9 inches.
4. The nose of plane had clay and a large paper clip.

Trial Test Distance Duration of flight
1 1.3 meters
1.8 seconds
2 11.4 meters 2.5 seconds

Our winning plane was flown outdoors from a height of 4 ft., with a slight wind, and a hand thrust was used.
The flight was level, with a nice, steady landing. It coasted to the ground. The maximum elevation achieved was about 8 ft.

We were pleased with our results!
